The Lord has said to me in the strongest terms: “Do not think like everyone else does. Do not be afraid that some plan conceived behind closed doors will be the end of you. It seems almost every new day brings news of something dreaded. A new war, shortages, civil unrest, an asteroid headed for earth, an outbreak of a potential plague…You get it.

When our hope is in the Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, we need not fear anything or anyone but Him.

And when our hope is properly placed in Him, our heads will not be turned by the next shiny thing that the world is going after. Our eyes remain fixed on Him.

Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
