That is the Question

Millions of Americans are distressed at what is happening in America, and want to know…

“How can we save our country?”

Yet the answer was given thousands of years ago, and remains the same today:

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS AND RESTORE THEIR LAND.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

Yes, simple. But not always easy.

Will we take Him at His word?

That is the question.

Will we humble ourselves – repenting, seeking God in His word – the Bible – possibly fasting?

Will we pray and entrust ourselves, our families, and our country to the Faithful One, seeking His guidance only?

Will we seek His face, recognizing that He alone has the answers we need?

We must obey what He says in His word, turn from wicked ways, and allow Him to direct us, remembering:

If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.

For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Romans 12:18‭-‬21 CSB

Being a Christian nation, as we know, is more than voting, and supporting the candidate we believe most closely governs by godly principles.

It’s more than posting scripture or godly memes on Facebook.

Being Christian is being a Christ follower and having the mind of Christ. How do we know if we have the mind of Christ? Philippians 2:5-11 gives the answer:

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5‭-‬11 NIV

Dear Lord Jesus: Help us, above all, to lift You high. Help us to honor Your name by living as You have instructed and modeled for us. In the precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
