Heartbreaking…

Kate Spade’s apparent suicide June 5 has touched many people, including those who didn’t even know her.

Maybe someone who is reading this post is struggling with depression and may even be considering suicide. If so, please know you are not alone.

As one who has been there, it is also important for you to know that the One Who knows you best loves you extravagantly.

Taking your pain on Himself on an old rugged cross over 2000 years ago, He conquered death, hell, and the grave. Because He is God, death couldn’t hold Him down! Praying for those who trust in Him this very moment, He came to give you abundant life, not life in a black hole. There is hope!!

If you don’t know Jesus, I encourage you to find out about Him. There are books and videos all over, the best being the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) in the Holy Bible.

You will see that, rather than taking all, which is His due as Creator and Lord, Jesus gives all to His beloved. You owe it to yourself to give Him and His claims an honest chance.

This is the beginning of life. There may be physical reasons for your depression that will need to be addressed also, but I promise you that when you wake up in the morning with Jesus in your heart and His praise on your lips (even if sometimes you begin as an act of your will) it will change your life.

Many people steadily climb out of that darkness by claiming His many promises in His word to us, the Holy Bible. Some call it a love letter from God. He wrote it to you, as well as to every person in the world. When you receive it by faith, and believe on the One it proclaims, a very personal relationship is born, and the miracle of healing and restoration begins.

May God give you courage to begin again, taking Him as your ever-present, all-sufficient Companion.
